|    1000TL questions    |

From: doug.mccomber@fakepart.gmail.com              Hi,              I recently bought a 1000TL on eBay and am new to the 1000 line. I have       some upgrade and general questions.              First, I want to upgrade to it's max ram capacit of 768k. What chips do       I need to buy? From what I can glean from earlier posts, I need two       64kx4 120ns DRAM chips. Is that correct?              Second, I want to put in a 5 1/4 inch floppy drive. I have one but it       is too long to fit. This may be a good thing, because I read on an       older post that the TL's power the floppy drives through the riddon       cable, and that the floppy drives were specially designed to handle       this. That being true, what model drives should I watch eBay for?              Lastly, when the hard card is removed, it boots from DOS in ROM in       seconds (awesome!). With the hard card installed (and the BIOS still       set to boot from ROM) it takes about 20 seconds to boot. Is this the       normal behaviour for a TL with a hard card?              Thanks,       Doug              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
