I just asked them if they had any old 720k drives with       jumpers they may have pulled from some old machines, and a few replied back       they did. I bought 2 pairs. One pair was $12 shipped and the other pair was       $15 shipped.              > They probably cost quite a bit less back then 10-15 years ago so the       > current price is based on availability either from CN80 or from where they       > got them from. Floppydrives are going out of fashion nowadays so 3.5" is       > going to be obsolete soon too.              I agree totally. I kinda jumped into all of this blind, no I have a bigger       respect for the price CN80 charges even at $48. The key being getting the       "know how" to make it all work properly. Right now I'm having a problem       getting the proper cabling together. I have some more stuff on the way, and       even if I have to build the cable myself through trial & error I will.       If the CN-80 guy wants to compromise on an apology for the way he treated me       and unblock me from his auction, I would consider buying from him. But thats       his call. The world still goes round regardless, right?              > About the discussion; I think it's a pretty strong reaction to post a       > warning on news, and the group is the main meeting place for present day       > TRS-80 users. Maybe too strong even if he got you angry....       > Knut       You may be right Knut, but I've met a few other TRS people on the net who       didn't seem to have many kind words to say about CN80. So being my first       exposure to the guy, I just figured they must be right. I mean look how he       treated me right off the bat.       If he can let by gones be by gones, so can I. As he said, "No Hard       Feelings". I'd like to see him prove he means what he said.              Have a great day Knut,       -)       -Chris              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
