1.44 MB floppies work fine as 720K floppies. Just use DDDS floppies. These
don't have the HD hole in them, just the write-protect tab. In a pinch,
cover the HD holes with electrical tape until you find a DD disk source.
Since the drives are 1.44, they should work. I've never had problems with
3.5" disks, but the 5.25" disks are a different story. If you have drive
select and RDY jumpers, you should be good to go. If you use an IBM-style
floppy cable, you have to undo the twist.

I have a 4P with dual 3.5" Chinon 357 floppies and have also put a pair on
   my Model I.
