   Compact Flash has what's called "True IDE" mode that yes, is compatible   
   with IDE signaling.   
      
   The only caveat is that you need to be careful when "hot swapping" the   
   cards - plugging in a CF card whilst the interface is powered will cause   
   the card to power up in native (non-True IDE) mode. The card *must* be   
   plugged into the interface before the interface is powered to come up in   
   True IDE mode.
