   You can use illogic, you can use contrived examples, but I will never   
   accept your silly idea.   Regardless of whether I bid $11, $1000, or   
   $1,000,000, my bid is higher than the $10 bidder.   I win, therefore I   
   determine the selling price because I have the highest bid.

   That's because my bid *is* $11 - until someone bids more than $11!   I   
   set the price at $11 until someone bids more than $11.    If their bid   
   is less than $1000, I set the price because I still have the highest bid.
