   BTW:

I made a CGA interface for one of my Genie I's (TRS-80 model I clone)
recreating the color kit I have from old. The CGA monitor takes logic
   level signals with NTSC timing.

Actually, first I created a CGA interface for an RGB card for Apple IIe.

This color kit with CGA output for the Genie I is only one GA22V10 and
it is transparent, doesn't intefere with the original output. I actually
thought I'd modify one of my model I's in the same way.

But, it's long between the CGA monitors nowadays. They also tend to get
   good prices on eBay.

I have sometimes dreamt of making a more advanced thingy that converts
to multisync but it will have to be a microcontroller that reads the
signal and recreate it as something suitable for a multisync monitor.
