XPost: comp.sys.acorn.misc, comp.sys.amiga.misc, comp.sys.apple2.usergroups       XPost: comp.sys.atari.8bit, comp.sys.cbm, comp.sys.ibm.pc.classic       XPost: comp.sys.sinclair, comp.sys.ti       From: post@newsgroups.net              well the list is up; opened up some more boxes today;       these were some of the heavier boxes, more than likely       books or monitors or odd systems; so far what i have       found is 3 of the 4 boxes contained books; however, 2       of the boxes so far appear to have gotten wet or       seriously damp; the books in those boxes were mostly       of the BASIC Programming Language (guides, programs,       etc.) of various systems (oddballs such as those from       tab, BBC Micro, Acorn, etc.); those are gone. (some       are stuck together, others, the binding is gone) i       know i did not store those like that and not sure how       the area got damp or wet (smells like mildew) as the       box doesn't appear to have been wet. another box had       about 2 dozen intellivision cartridges (some with       radio shack logo on them for the clone made by radio       shack) which also appeared to have gotten wet (they       were in another area of the shed) as there is some       corrision on the contacts. i live in a dry climate so       humidity is out of the question.              i was hoping to finish up the rest of the boxes by       this weekend but that doesn't look like its going to       happen. what i'm gonna have to do and should have       done is selectively check each system for corrosion       and or power up a few systems here and there to make       sure something works. :-(              the 2 problems i am facing: short on time and short       on space. it'd have been nice to have opened up all       these boxes in a wharehouse type enviorment. lol.              i'll keep ya'll posted thru the link i supplied       earlier.              they say that there is a silverlining in every rain       cloud; i certainly hope thats true here.-Jeff              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
