The differences between the 'main' drive and 'secondary' drives was the
'main' (1160) drive included the cable and the drive had a resistor pack
installed. The 1161 drive did not. Since they were both the same price,
most stores (and customers) ordered the main drive and stockpiled
cables and resistor packs. It wasn't a big deal with the packs, but the
cables were easily destroyed. The connector was a 'tandem finger'
connector which made a great connection, but unfortunately could be
easily damaged if the user tried to plug the cable on 'crooked' and
then straightened it out as it was pressed on.

I used to keep drawers of the fingers to repair cables.

You could reinstall the connectors (usually) with no problem IF you
just moved the connector about 1/4" or so on the cable so that it had
a fresh 'bite' on the wires.
