They do random checks,       so they ask me to document without telling me what documentation that       came on the package. So I send them a pdf of the auction, paypal etc...       Of course they can't give me trouble for something I didn't do myself       but they could start checking every package I get.              Anyway below a rather low limit (200 NOK) it goes trough without VAT.       Our present finance minister told us, before the election, that she       would raise this limit to something more sensible but now that she is       the finance minister she has come to understand why this limit have to       be this low... This limit has been exactly same since I started getting       computer things from abroad. The Video Genie came from UK early 1981.       Inflation since then is at least a 10 factor. Isn't that typical, a       limit that is to your disadvantage stay fixed while limits that are to       your advantage are moved every year to compensate inflation.              The VAT is 25% on this kind of things, on import by post even used       things. It is of course what pays for our welfare-state so we should pay       gladly... so I don't really object. What I don't like is the fee the       post charge me for collecting the VAT.              And I did win!!! :-) If we manage to get the disk here intact I hope I       can fix several old TRS-80 drives. Only one of the really old drives       work well and several of them work but not well. Of my own old drives       DS80 types only one is good too.              --       Knut       (delete 'nogarbage.' for email)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
