   As mentioned elsewhere, you need separate power supplies for the EI and CPU.   
      
   If you build a straight-through cable, you can connect up to 3 3.5" floppies   
   to your EI and run double-sided, provided you use a DS-aware DOS, such as   
   LDOS 5.x or DOSPLUS 3.x. I have that set up on mine, and except for setting   
   the drive select and ready jumpers, they work fine. The drives are   
   terminated inside, so you don't need to add any.   
      
   You can find connectors and ribbon cable on-line, just search for IDC   
   connectors. You can also find adapters that change the pin connector on the   
   3.5" drives to card-edge style.
