I put generic MS-DOS 5.0 on my Tandy 1000 with no problems. Well,
other than the fact that I lost some Tandy 'enhancements' like the CGAjr
modes from BASIC, but programs that used them and had it 'built in' were
fine. In fact, with just a little bit of fudging, I even got the light pen
   to work
and had a program that would bring up a 'big text' list of kids games that
my kids could use the light pen to pick and choose from.

I never saw any problems with sound. Same thing as with the 'jr' graphics.
If the programs supported it, it worked, but it was missing from the generic
   GWBASIC.
