If I remember right, the serial card on Model III's was bundled with the
disk systems but only factory built. If it was upgraded, then it was an
add-on. It was relatively cheap, and I've not really seen any without it,
but that could be the case.

The Model I EI serial ports are scarce. What was out there seemed to
be scarfed up quick. I do recall an aftermarket board for at least a while,
but I never really looked into it so I don't know how popular it was.
