   Anything is possible - but does it come and go as you wiggle the cable? You   
   can easily clean the drive contacts, not always easy with keyboards.   
      
   It could also be a resistor-pack issue. Does drive 0 act ok?   
      
   More than likely, it could be a worn-out drive. They do go bad. I just   
   recently threw away about 10 5.25" drives that had simply stopped working   
   over the years. Half couldn't be seen, two of them seemed to format, but   
   then came up with a mess of errors every time. Cleaning didn't help.
