   As far as i remember/know none of the EI's need the buffered interface   
   (between the keyboard and the EI).   
   The internal buffering was only added so the address lines are less   
   susceptable to noise (when another connection was made to the   
   'interface bus').   
   BTW the data lines are not buffered..
