   Then you didn't ask the right question.  Your subject header   
   was "First TRS-80" and in the body you asked   
   "exact model number of the FIRST TRS-80 model".   
      
   You got answers that were about the model, which is what you were   
   asking. If you'd asked for a part number, you wouldn't have   
   gotten those answers.   
      
   The first Radio Shack computer was a "TRS-80", that was the name   
   name.  No further numbers, because it was only later that they   
   decided to use the number as a brand name for their computers.   
      
   The later computers come into the replies because they morphed   
   the original model's "TRS-80" into a brand, and then they had   
   to add model numbers to distinguish themselves from the   
   original model TRS-80.   
      
   Much of the time, posters can't ask questions properly, which   
   is why they get treated like they don't know what they are   
   asking.
