   While it wouldn't be 'original', you can clean it up and repaint easily.   
   Tandy   
   used 'Mercedes Silver', and that paint should be available generically.   
      
   To take off labels and trim, try using freeze mist.  I could use freeze mist   
   to open Model II cases and not tear the tamper label if I happened to be   
   out of them.  If you have to tear the label, slice it cleanly with a razor   
   blade.   
   That way it still 'looks good' when you put it back together.
