As Mark pointed out, Cloud-9 already have a (very realistically priced) IDE
   controller.

If you are really keen to do it yourself, Protovision still have good stocks
(I bought half a dozen recently) of the "8-bit baby" development card:

Their postage rates (to Australia) were very reasonable indeed.

Has edge connectors to suit various old machines.
The 44pin C64 edge side can easily be trimmed to suit the COCO.

Space for a commonly available CPLD, the Altera 3032/3064.
Can easily be modded to take an Altera 7032/7064 which will give 2 extra
   I/O's,
run at 5V without requiring the 3.3V regulator, and give (marginally) higher
   drive
   current.

   Hope this helps.

   Cheers,
   Leslie
