      From: wesf@rica.net              16-bit ISA are indeed common. What is rare are 8-bit ISA cards with       on-board BIOS capable of running AT-class IDE drives. Somewhat more common       are 8-bit ISA cards with on-board BIOS that only control XT-class IDE       drives. XT and AT (perhaps more accurately called XTA and ATA) are not       compatible with one another.
