   Are you sure you have both the EI an the CPU with the appropriate mods for   
   the buffered EI?   
      
   For a non-buffered cable, you can just get generic IDC connectors and a   
   piece of appropriate ribbon cable. But make sure you have at least the mod   
   to the CPU.
