I again tested the drive and cabling by attaching it to a WDXT-GEN hard disk controller and under MS-DOS used DEBUG G=C800:5 to run the XT-GEN low-level format utility. Drive formatted with no problem. Tried formatting again with DISKUTIL. Same error.
