   To Gene: Maybe the guy has a similar problem and is wondering what the   
   solution may be. Lighten up and let the newsgroup die in peace.   
      
   As far as the printer port not being used and I am not familiar with the 1000,   
   I would check to see if there is a header cable going from the motherboard to   
   the backpanel. It may be plugged in incorrectly at the motherboard. If the   
   printer port is a    
   separate accessory card then remove it and see if the system comes up.
