EC> Not mistaken by much. Some of it was Klahn, other parts
 EC> Lofaso.

EC> Roger had listed the echo in January. The listing expired
EC> on August 1. The new echolist came out August 5. At around
EC> this time, someone in a different echo commented that they
EC> hadn't seen Lofaso post anything in a while, and wondered
EC> what happened to him. Someone else mentioned that he was
 EC> still posting in COFFEE_KLATSCH.

EC> After the new echolist came out, showing the listing
EC> deleted, Klahn started posting that the echo needed a
 EC> moderator.

Error on his part. Started posting *AGAIN* that the echo needed
a moderator. I had posted that before Roger listed it, and my
posting was why Roger listed it.

EC> Lofaso almost immediately listed the echo in
EC> his name. He gave it back to Roger nine days later, in
EC> response to the weight of public opinion. As I recall, he

Note that Earl admits the echo was unlisted.

EC> even tried to negotiate CONDITIONS with Roger for the
EC> return of the echo, but when that didn't work he just gave
 EC> in.

How croasmun would know that is questionable.

EC> I don't think having a moderator affected the echo. It was
EC> active from January to July of that year, with Roger as
EC> moderator. It was the unpleasantness in August that may
EC> have affected the tone of the echo. Klahn and Lofaso were
 EC> posting about "nasties coming."

Posting again. The Nasties were the reason I recommended a
moderator originally. Then, when someone mentioned that Lee was
in coffee_klatch I posted the warning again. I was right, the
Natties showed up. But they left when they discovered it was a
 no-flame echo.

 EC> Lofaso listed the echo.
EC> Several people expressed their displeasure with what Klahn
EC> and Lofaso had said and done, sometimes in very blunt
EC> language. The two of them introduced nastiness into a
 EC> previously happy echo.

Funny, not one single person mentioned either of us as their
reason for leaving the echo. No one had a problem before August
because Roger did not announce that he had listed the echo, and
 he did zero moderating.

OTOH, several people cited the Nasties as the reason they left
the echo, and at least one cited Roger as the reason.

If Roger had said he had listed the echo none of that would have
 happened.
