   FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ark. – A 71-year-old man is facing charges   
   after he allegedly didn’t stop the rape of a boy.   
      
   According to KFSM, 71-year-old Jordan Byrd is facing charges for   
   permitting child abuse and failing to report child abuse.   
      
   The probable cause affidavit paints a disturbing picture of what   
   occurred on a bus Byrd was driving from an alternative school in   
   Fort Smith, Arkansas.   
      
   Authorities say a 14-year-old boy raped and sodomized a 9-year-   
   old boy in March while they were the only passengers on Byrd’s   
   van.   
      
   The entire incident, which lasted for six minutes, was captured   
   on the bus’ surveillance camera.   
      
   Officials say the 14-year-old forced the boy to perform oral sex   
   and the victim could be heard loudly saying, ‘It hurts.’   
      
   According to the affidavit, the video shows that Byrd looked up   
   several times during the assault but did nothing to intervene.   
      
   At that point, the suspect allegedly sodomized the victim.   
      
   The affidavit claims the victim screamed out in pain, causing   
   Byrd to look up again but he still did nothing.   
      
   Once the victim’s screaming got worse, Byrd asked the boys what   
   was going on and the alleged assault stopped, the affidavit   
   claims.   
      
   A supervisor at the Area Agency on Aging told investigators that   
   Byrd did not report the incident to the agency.   
      
   KFSM reports that Byrd admitted to investigators that he saw the   
   sexual assault but claimed the boys had a “relationship” so he   
   did not stop the attack.   
      
   A lawsuit filed against the agency by the victim’s family claims   
   the alleged suspect is related to Byrd, who has since resigned.
