Yeah I haven't gotten much time lately for my BBS, either, unfortunately. I'm probably letting some new users slide off due to my lack of time throwing up new content and the like. :P Virtual Advanced to GT Power? GPU issues? DS> The only thing I use Internet Explorer for is Windows Update. DS> Otherwise, I use Google Chrome. Yeah that's pretty much what I do when I'm on a windows box, too. DS> Rob Swindell (aka Digital Man) just released version 3.16 of DS> Synchronet. Yep, I'm running 3.16b. Jim Cantore is one of the DS> meteorologists with The Weather Channel...and D-Star is a digital mode DS> of amateur radio. But, unlike Jim Cantore... Heh. Always good to have a little fame in your own circles of interest. ;) DS> Florida may be the lightning capital of the world, but at times, I DS> dare say that Arkansas is a close second. Yeah I was stuck out in the woods in Arkansas when I was cross-country homeless at one point... With my 2.5 year old son... A cloudburst happened right after I got the tent set up. Still don't have any idea what else could've been out in those woods off of the highway; I'm glad I never had the opportunity to find out. There was a _lot_ of lightning, though. We were on a hilltop, too, due to lack of time to find out exactly what resources we had to workwith before the clouds opened up. It was kind of a terrifying night... I wish I remember how far through the state we were at that point. That was awhile ago, now, though. DS> With one episode of storms, in a 12 hour period, 25,000 lightning DS> strikes were recorded across Arkansas. In a 1 hour period during that DS> time, in Pulaski County (Little Rock), there were over 500 lightning DS> strikes!! One of those hit a power substation in west Little Rock, DS> putting much of the western part of the city in the dark for several DS> hours. I believe it. Ugh work calls. :P -D --- SBBSecho 2.27-OpenBSD * Origin: Tinfoil.synchro.net - now at FTN (1:340/200) (1:340/200) |
