DAG> By the way, you'll probably notice that there will be several
DAG> messages that I'm not responding to, at least right away. I've got a
DAG> _huge_ backlog, and I really pruned some of the threads that were way
DAG> out of date back there. They were all regarding conversational
DAG> tangents that things seem to keep wrapping back around to, anyway. ;)
Not a problem... As long as you keep your end of the conversation up,
and don't lose the important bits, that's what counts... ;) And, as
you've probably noticed, I've been slowly responding back, anyway... ;)
NB>> With any luck, they'll not be made of glass and shatter when you drop
NB>> them... Seriously, though, staying reasonably frugal makes good
NB>> sense... then when the inevitable down times come, one is in a better
NB>> position to weather them, both by practice and by not already being
NB>> over-extended... :)
DAG> Yeah. God the call of having a 5-digit bank account is screaming at
DAG> me lately. I really don't have very far into the 4s, either.
DAG> Certainly not enough to sustain for more than a month or two. That's
DAG> the moving fund, too.
Did all of the mess around the late etc payments finally get
straightened around...?
DAG> Keep your fingers crossed for more contract work to come in here.
DAG> I'm starting to look for more hourly stuff around here, too. Stuff
DAG> that hopefully I'll be able to manage; entry levelish yet still
DAG> interesting, hopefully.
Hopefully the contract work will pick up again quickly... :) As for
the hourly work, also hopefully something that will easily fit your
schedule around Deschain's school hours, and that isn't too far away for
your transportation there.....
NB>> Indeed. Unbroken bootstraps might be helpful... but those calling for
NB>> their use rarely supply the need... ;0
DAG> Well it's good that some people understand that. ;)
It's amazing and sad to me how many people don't understand that...
NB>> Shoulda been running and meditating instead of picking up the smoking,
NB>> after all... ;) But yeah, I hear you... :)
DAG> Well my body is in good enough condition now that I've been able to
DAG> start back with some things. Even some [very limited] muscular work on
DAG> my upper body, though it's weaker than I've ever trained back from
DAG> before. I took my 3rd run without missing any today. Forgot my
DAG> inhaler, though, and had an asthma attack 15 minutes out, so it didn't
DAG> really go as well as it could have.
Next time, remember your inhaler.. ;) But that sounds like some decent
progress... :)
DAG> It's a good time to drop the smokes again, you've got that part right.
Mind you, I'm speaking as a non-smoker... but with friends and family
that do smoke... In my experience, though, observing, the smokes never
really do do as much good as they are supposedly doing, and cause health
problems of various sorts as well...
NB>> That's part of the problem with needing meds... no way to have a more
NB>> reliable way of getting them than what you have now...? And probably no
NB>> way to build yourself a small emergency stockpile to tide you over when
NB>> this sort of thing happens... You'd think that the VA would recognize
NB>> the importance of keeping the meds stable to keep you stable...
DAG> Not really any way other than the VA right now, no. Like I
DAG> mentioned in the other message, though, this is a constant goal of
DAG> mine, as it is for you. I'll see what I'm able to manage.
Does talking to your VA docs do any good...? You'd think they'd have
some interest in keeping you stable... you'd think, anyway... ;0
