DAG> No way I'm gonna be perfect. ;) Seriously, though, I think I'm
DAG> pretty good at seeing some of the areas where I dont do perfect. I'm
DAG> always trying to do a little bit better, so I can at least say I'm
DAG> improving. Not that I wouldn't benefit from more feedback on what I'm
DAG> not necessarily doing right at any one time, of course. It's always
DAG> helpful to get those blindspots pointed out. How else is one better to
DAG> improve the issues that don't come in to focus with only one's self?
Quite so. :) Best we can do is try our best, and try to improve where
we find deficiencies, whether we find them ourselves or have them
pointed out to us.... :)
NB>> I think that was about reading your mom's manuscript... :)
DAG> Oh yeah. That is on my 'next to read' pile at the very top, still.
As long as you get to it before she starts asking for feedback....
DAG> The problem that I've found with my current arrangements is that I've
DAG> only got the 1 room to work with here (the living room, even). There
DAG> is a chair to sit at for the computer and a couch which I use as a bed,
DAG> alternating, with a futon, so that neither I nor my son get too bad of
DAG> back issues from it. The chair is an office chair, and not really the
DAG> best for reading. So, if I try to go over to the couch and read, I
DAG> inevitably get drowsy due to my habituation of that point being for
DAG> sleep primarily. I even have that with movies now, if I try to watch
DAG> them over there. It's horribly inconvenient.
Sigh... Probably no room to get a beanbag chair in there, for reading
and movie watching... ;)
DAG> I should take advantage of a few of the days that are still decent
DAG> before it starts the constant winter downpour here and try to get
DAG> outside to a park to go through it or something, probably.
Now that's an idea.... or maybe go to the library...??
NB>> Not really... just the way I keep things in perspective... the first
NB>> bit, though, is a bit tongue in cheek, sorta... :)
DAG> Oh I'm sorry. That was remarkably callous of me. I must've read
DAG> that part with a lower-case 'g'. My apologies if my misunderstanding
DAG> caused any offense.
No offense taken... I don't expect everyone to have the same perspective
as mine, but I also don't mind sharing my perspective... :)
DAG> I'm used to a circle of friends where the closest people to
DAG> straight-up christianity are people who go to a non-denominational
DAG> church in order to help the spiritual and moral lessons, but don't
DAG> really believe in 'God' (capital G). Being former cult kid and a
DAG> secular Buddhist, I miss and cause offense now and then.
As long as you don't take offense at my being open with my faith, we
should be fine... :)
DAG> I certainly don't believe that we're anywhere near to the Earth being
DAG> stewarded to our full human potential (if we were all one with our
DAG> Buddha- selves), either. ;)
Yup... we don't even always do all that we are capable of even in our
not fully realized state.... with or without God... :)
