Can't blame you there... ;) At the moment, I seem to be able to stay
on top of things and stay current... so at least I shouldn't be sending
you lots all at once...
NB>> Did all of the mess around the late etc payments finally get

DAG> Everything is good. I haven't replenished what I had to survive off

Sounds good... :) Definitely moving in the right direction... :)
NB>> Hopefully the contract work will pick up again quickly... :)
DAG> It seems to be picking up. Granted, some of the work was more of
DAG> a creative exercise in finding out what the client wanted but
DAG> didn't know that they wanted, but the point is that they've

More hours authorized is very good... :) The creative exercise is
probably actually part of why they hire the work out instead of trying
to do it themselves... ;)
NB>> As for the hourly work, also hopefully something that will easily

NB>> too far away for your transportation there.....
DAG> The hourly work is something that I haven't done much about yet.
DAG> I really need to, but I'm taking baby steps on getting myself back out
DAG> into the world of people. A couple of the different professionals that

DAG> that I've been dealing with to take it slow, so I'm hoping to start
DAG> taking an hour a day at different coffee shops around here now that
DAG> I've got a working laptop battery.
That actually sounds like very sound advice... easier to acclimatize
yourself that way to the pressures of being in that world of people...
DAG> I wonder if I'll get any comments about how awesome, retro, and
DAG> vintage my laptop is since it's a massive hulk from awhile ago
DAG> instead of something slim 'n new. Heh.
Chuckle. ;) My laptop has just been "upgraded" from an Epson 486 to a
Toshiba Satellite Pro (don't remember if it's another 486 or something
later)... Last year, with my old one, my niece spotted it and exclaimed
That's a Dinasaur! My new one is pretty much a dinasaur, too, but
at least it works... ;)
NB>> Next time, remember your inhaler.. ;) But that sounds like some
NB>> decent progress... :)
DAG> The progress is getting better rapidly. I'm back up to my normal
DAG> recovery and performance curve on running, almost.
Sounds very good... :)
DAG> The strength issues are still hanging around until that shoulder is
DAG> good enough to train with. I don't know how long that's going to
DAG> take; it's still a few more weeks before I can see the physical
DAG> therapist for more input on that again, as well.
In the meantime, you are doing the exercises the PT gave you for it,
anyway, right...? Too bad you have to wait so long....
NB>> Mind you, I'm speaking as a non-smoker... but with friends and family
NB>> that do smoke... In my experience, though, observing, the smokes
NB>> never really do do as much good as they are supposedly doing, and
NB>> cause health problems of various sorts as well...
DAG> Well smokes allegedly help one deal with stress. Nicotine alone is
DAG> pretty good for it, I hear. So it makes a great crutch.
I've heard that tale, too... and I'll buy the crutch aspect... ;) From
the outside, though, it doesn't look like it does much for the stress
really, except as something that the person thinks is helping...
DAG> Other than that it's good for nothing, and the crutch thing is a
DAG> double-edged sword anyway. You don't want crutches that you can't
DAG> throw away when you don't need them any more.
For real... :)
DAG> Anyhoo I've got asthma and all kinds of fun stuff like that, too.
DAG> So they've never really been a plus in my department for anything
DAG> other than helping me deal with social anxiety. Totally not worth
DAG> it. The health problems are enormous and can be quite life-ending,
DAG> so yeah...
Yup... certainly better for you to let them alone... :)
DAG> I'm glad I've been off of all the tobacco for a week again now.
DAG> See if I can push back up into the years away from it again this
DAG> time. ;)
I'm rooting for you to succeed... :)
NB>> Does talking to your VA docs do any good...? You'd think they'd have
NB>> some interest in keeping you stable... you'd think, anyway... ;0
DAG> They're putting it off for awhile for some reason until I've been
DAG> stable longer. Talk about a catch .22... Stay stable with unstable
DAG> medications until we decide that we can give you enough meds to stay
DAG> stable with. Great plan, and a true indicator of government planning
DAG> and action.
[shaking head] Quite short-sighted... Are they decent docs
otherwise...? or are you just stuck with what you've got despite them
not being all that good...
