NB> Can't blame you there... ;) At the moment, I seem to be able to stay
NB> on top of things and stay current... so at least I shouldn't be sending
NB> you lots all at once...

Well, while that may be working well for you, I fear that good sir Rob Starr
has gone down and left me without a connection for quite some time now. I'm
not quite sure how much of what I've written is still behind the waiting
dam-burst, but it's been quite awhile. So in our future I see a torrential
flood of messages coming for you and others, and then much time with my furious
scrabbling to keep up as the replies start to come in again. *grin*

DAG>> the green far enough so that I can start making deposits again.
NB> Sounds good... :) Definitely moving in the right direction... :)

Well, I haven't made it to the bank yet, and deposit(s) other than just the
minimal 2 seem to be lacking (though one is for multiple combined pay periods).
Regardless, when I get this stuff in (hopefully today) I should be back up into
a bit over 4 digits. Unfortunately the work dried up again right quick after
that last little bit. I expect the belt is going to have to stay pretty tight
until well after the holiday season here.

NB> More hours authorized is very good... :) The creative exercise is
NB> probably actually part of why they hire the work out instead of trying
NB> to do it themselves... ;)

It was great while it lasted, yeah. Felt really good to be working again for
a stretch, that's for sure. Brings a lot more of a sense of accomplishment to
one's life. Money doesn't hurt, either. Though now that I put it that way I
cannot help but think of exactly how the root of all evil has hurt so very many
on this planet.

NB> That actually sounds like very sound advice... easier to acclimatize
NB> yourself that way to the pressures of being in that world of people...

Yeah I had to miss a few days due to some horrific bronchitis and a fever
that hovered around 102 for awhile. I should be able to get back there today,
though. I don't know if it's going to be nice today and really don't care; I'm
going to make it out there and read my biomom's manuscript for awhile and catch
up on some paper journaling entries. Heck, maybe I'll even take my laptop with
and try writing some code if I've got enough initiative, too.

NB> Chuckle. ;) My laptop has just been "upgraded" from an Epson 486 to a
NB> Toshiba Satellite Pro (don't remember if it's another 486 or something
NB> later)... Last year, with my old one, my niece spotted it and exclaimed
NB> That's a Dinasaur! My new one is pretty much a dinasaur, too, but
NB> at least it works... ;)

Nice! My laptop is a Toshiba, too. I can't remember the model offhand, but
I think it's somewhere around PPro class, definitely a dino, but it's built
like a tank and it's not so bad when it's running good. No reason to have all
of that hardcore hardware if you really don't need it. If a person can't be
patient and fetch a cup of coffee or tea while something is crunching a little
bit of data, well then they've got more money than I. ;)

DAG>> The progress is getting better rapidly. I'm back up to my normal
DAG>> recovery and performance curve on running, almost.
 NB> Sounds very good... :)

Ack. We'll see how well I'm able to pick that curve back up when the
bronchitis is totally gone. I'm gonna try a bike ride today and then a run
tomorrow. I hope it doesn't go too horribly.

NB> In the meantime, you are doing the exercises the PT gave you for it,
NB> anyway, right...? Too bad you have to wait so long....

Um. I've been a little less-than-vigilant about this. I've let the multiple
reschedulings get me a little bit down in the dumps about it and haven't kept
with it so well. I definitely need to knock that crap off, too. When I'm
doing other physical things, though, my physical therapy fits perfectly into
the routine, though, so with the bike ride today it should work well.

NB> I've heard that tale, too... and I'll buy the crutch aspect... ;) From
NB> the outside, though, it doesn't look like it does much for the stress
NB> really, except as something that the person thinks is helping...

I haven't seen the studies, but my roomie who is also a massive trove of
pharmaceutical information as well as that about many abused and research
chemicals has quoted the ones about how nicotine affects the body's ability to
handle stress. I should get some more detailed info from him. Except that'll
make me want to smoke. The psychological bit of it can't be ignored, though,
especially if there's a neuro-pharmalogical basis for things being reinforced.
I'd never pick up that filthy habit again if I'd go back. ;)

NB> [shaking head] Quite short-sighted... Are they decent docs
NB> otherwise...? or are you just stuck with what you've got despite them
NB> not being all that good...

All of the ones that I've had here have seemed very competent for the most
part, yes. Much better than the ones that were employed by the VA in
Bismarck, to be sure. It's the system itself that seems to be broken. All of
the issues that I've had have been dealt with very well once I'm actually in to
get them handled for the most part, though. Unless, of course, that bit has to
deal with prescriptions being sent out. If I were a bit closer to the inner
city and could pick them up myself it wouldn't be so bad, but... :P
  Moar soon.
