  For that matter, there wasn't even the internet back then...and when I was
in high school (where the bullying continued), BBS's weren't even around yet.

  I've heard of cases where 2 kids have a "playground fight", but end up
becoming the best of friends. Nowadays, if someone disagrees with something
you do, your fear is that they're going to pull out a weapon and kill you. :P
