Sounds like Iniquity doesn't hangup the modem correctly after a caller exits?

What about a simple redirect from DOS, ie. ECHO AT&C1 >COM1

If I understand correctly that Rlfossil emulates a modem, it should logically
emulate the Eeprom, so you write a "good" config to the modem I believe with
AT&W. When the modem initializes with ATZ it should recall that stored
profile.

What happens if you disable the BBS entirely in D'Bridge via 
Config-Advanced-BBS and then try connecting? You should receive the message 
"Please hangup, accepting Email sessions only". When you do hangup, what is 
the status of the CD light?
