I think I explained it clearly in the Readme file.

D'Bridge modem support is specifically designed to work with real actual 
modems... not weird emulated stuff.

I don't understand why you're messing around with virtualized modems and 
emulator stuff when Fido mail is predominately exchanged via. BinkD which is 
integrated nicely with the mailer. Not many systems exchange mail via. dialup 
anymore.
