Fidonet is not about BBSs though BBSs can use it to link-up. Hence my answer
is correct.
 
The original question was "So is it the mailer or the BBS that handles MSGIDs?"
 
"Handling MSGIDs" implies that the MSGID is already there otherwise it cannot
be handled at all, so it's the tosser handling it, not the BBS.
 
If you wanted to ask about setting or inserting a MSGID, then you expressed
yourself rather poorly.
