   You really have to watch the video to see how scary Thursday night turned   
   for Sen. Rand Paul and his companions — surrounded by scores of angry,   
   ignorant goons threatening to kill them.   
      
   It was one of several mobs of Black Lives Matter “protesters” that freely   
   roamed the streets of our nation’s capital during and after President   
   Trump’s acceptance speech at the White House, besieging attendees as they   
   left.   
      
   One crew surrounded Paul (R-Ky.), along with his wife and two others, as   
   well as two cops — scores of people furiously screaming in their faces,   
   threatening to kill them and demanding Paul say the name Breonna Taylor,   
   the African-American EMT shot by cops in a no-knock raid in Louisville.   
      
   Someone yelled, “We’ve got Rand Paul trapped!” Yet, for a group supposedly   
   intent on justice, they were remarkably ignorant of the fact that Paul is   
   one of the Senate’s chief criminal-justice reformers and wrote the Justice   
   for Breonna Taylor Act, which would ban no-knock raids like the one that   
   led to Taylor’s death.   
      
   Video shows the mob refusing to let the group move until more police   
   arrive and escort them to their hotel — and shows a “protester” violently   
   shoving one officer, who stumbles and nearly knocks the senator down.   
      
   The Pauls thought “they might not make it.” “All I could think of was the   
   driver who was pulled from his car, viciously kicked in the head and left   
   lying in his own blood in Portland, Ore., last week,” Kelly Paul wrote.   
      
   They weren’t alone. GOP committeeman Chris Ager and his wife were also   
   accosted by hooligans, who threatened, provoked and brushed up against   
   them. They surrounded a bus of RNC attendees, terrorizing riders. Other   
   BLMers launched a violent, anti-gay attack on Brandon Straka, founder of   
   #WalkAway, a group of Democrats who quit their party because of its “race-   
   baiting,” “violence” and “vitriol.”   
      
   The rioters clashed with DC police again over the weekend. And all this   
   just days after BLM hecklers harassed random diners at DC eateries.   
      
   Paul and his wife are 1,000 percent right in blaming both Democrats,   
   who’ve urged “unrest” in the streets, and the media, who’ve “downplayed”   
   the “shootings, murder, looting and destruction.”   
      
   As if to prove that last point, an Associated Press story reported that   
   Paul failed to supply evidence of an attack — even as the story described   
   just that, along with pictures and a link to the video. The New York Times   
   account stressed that the footage didn’t show Paul “physically” attacked.   
      
   Idiocy: Anyone encouraging and enabling these incidents is tearing at the   
   very political fabric that holds the nation together. Do they really want   
   to see America blown up?
