   A freshman Republican congresswoman from Illinois said that Adolf Hitler   
   was “right on one thing” during a rally held in Washington one day before   
   pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol, video shows.   
      
   Rep. Mary Miller, who was elected in November, was caught on video outside   
   the Capitol on Tuesday referencing Hitler while speaking at a “Moms for   
   America” event in response to the Constitution being “subverted” and the   
   “integrity” of the 2020 election in question.   
      
   “Each generation has the responsibility to teach and train the next   
   generation,” video shows Miller saying. “You know, if we win a few   
   elections, we’re still gonna be losing unless we win the hearts and minds   
   of our children. This is the battle. Hitler was right on one thing. He   
   said, ‘Whoever has the youth has the future.’”   
      
   Blowback from the remark — a paraphrase of a statement Hitler reportedly   
   made at a 1935 Nazi rally — was swift, including from Illinois Gov. J.B.   
   Pritzker, who is Jewish.   
      
   “I want to address the unfathomable and disgusting remarks that the newest   
   member of the Illinois congressional delegation made — Mary Miller,” the   
   Democrat told reporters Wednesday. “Let me be clear: Hitler got nothing   
   right. This reprehensible rhetoric has no place in our politics. Illinois   
   Republicans cannot allow this to stand and must condemn this vile, evil   
   streak in their party.”   
      
   Miller should also visit the state’s Holocaust museum to see “just how   
   wrong Hitler really was,” Pritzker added.   
      
   A spokeswoman for the legislator confirmed she made the remark, the   
   Chicago Tribune reported.   
      
   Miller, who thanked President Trump for his “complete and total”   
   endorsement in September, was sworn in for her first term on Monday. Prior   
   to taking office, she promised to join a group of Republicans seeking to   
   overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, the Tribune   
   reported.   
      
   The head of the Anti-Defamation League, as well as fellow Republican   
   lawmakers, also strongly denounced Miller for referencing the leader of   
   the Third Reich.   
      
   “Hitler wasn’t right on anything — and invoking his name in this or any   
   context is wildly offensive & disrespects the millions who perished due to   
   the Nazis’ hateful, genocidal regime,” ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt   
   tweeted. “An apology is the least you can do for your constituents & our   
   country.”   
      
   State Rep. Bob Morgan, a Democrat, said Wednesday he looked forward to   
   Miller’s apology for her “disqualifying and disgusting” remark, while a   
   Republican rep from Channahon tweeted: “I outright condemn this garbage.”   
      
   Erin O’Malley, a spokeswoman for Miller, told The Post that the newly   
   sworn-in legislator plans to release a statement on the matter later   
   Thursday.
