The plastic surgeon who freed “Gorilla Glue girl” Tessica
Brown’s locks hopes his “magical solution” could take hold — and
is “in talks” to make it commercially available.
Dr. Michael Obeng, 47, told TMZ that requests for surgery at his
Beverly Hills business have seen a “hundredfold increase” since
he saved the Louisiana mom’s hair, which had been stuck for more
than a month when she used Gorilla Glue after running out of her
usual spray.
He has also been contacted by companies hoping to produce the
secret formula he came up with to remove the tight-holding gunk.
“We have had a lot of inquiries,” he said of his “magical
solution.”
“We are in talks … to go commercial and make it available for
people who have had Crazy Glue, Gorilla Glue or any type of
adhesive glue that is not easily dissolved,” he told the outlet.
Even if those plans don’t stick, Obeng said business is soaring
for his regular surgical work.
“We’ve had over 5,000 patient inquiries in the last four days …
we’re not even equipped to go through that many people,” he said.
He’s not the only one hoping to profit from the sticky situation.
Mom of five Brown, 40, already has her own line of merchandise,
and has hired a full-blown celebrity management team to help
make the most of her viral infamy.
Her original TikTok clip about her hair disaster — in which she
admitted that using the glue was a “bad, bad, bad idea” — had
been seen more than 36 million times by Wednesday.
