   One person is dead and three more injured after a gunman opened   
   fire at a Washington DC funeral home.   
      
   The shooting unfolded outside the Stewart Funeral Home, shortly   
   after a service for 24-year-old Stephon Lamont Carroll.   
      
   As mourners were piling out of the funeral home at around   
   12.18pm, the gunman opened fire.  He fled in a green vehicle and   
   remains at large.   
      
   At a press conference this afternoon, DC police chief Robert   
   Contee said Carroll too had been killed as the result of gun   
   violence.   
      
   It remains unclear what the motive for today's shooting at his   
   funeral was, and Chief Contee did not give any further details   
   about how Carroll died on March 24.   
      
   'Their loved one died as a result of gun violence.   
      
   'Someone decided to disrespect the family at this level and   
   commit this senseless act of violence at this kid's funeral,'   
   Chief Contee said.   
      
   The family had requested police presence at the funeral because   
   they were fearful of a incident, he added.   
      
   The shooting comes just a day after a gunman in Louisville,   
   Kentucky, killed five people before being killed in a gunfight   
   with police.   
      
   Earlier this month, trans teen gunwoman Audrey Hale opened fire   
   on the Covenant School in Nashville, killing three young   
   children and three adults before being shot dead by police.
