The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended       period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing,       why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn,” Trump wrote on Truth       Social.              “Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of       asking if they saw the plane,” the president added, referring to publicly       available air traffic control audio of the incident.              “This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented.       NOT GOOD!!!”              In a separate post, Trump wrote: “What a terrible night this has been. God       bless you all!”              Follow the NYP’s coverage of the deadly DC plane collision              Military chopper, plane collision over DC was ‘absolutely’ preventable,       new transportation boss says — as officials confirm no survivors expected       Air traffic controller’s reaction to DC collision revealed in chilling       audio: ‘Crash, crash, crash, this is an alert three’       DC chopper, plane crash live updates: No survivors expected after AA       flight collides with military helicopter in deadliest US crash since 2009       Timeline of air traffic controllers issuing warnings before American       Airlines plane, Black Hawk helicopter collision in DC       Trump says collision between American Airlines jet and Army helicopter       ‘looks like it should have been prevented’              American Airlines Flight 5342, operated by PSA Airlines, was traveling       from Wichita, Kan., to Washington when it collided with an Army Black Hawk       helicopter as it approached Washington Reagan National Airport in       Virginia.              There were 60 passengers and four crew members aboard the plane.              Conversation              Stancaron3       12 hours ago              I've been flying for 47 years and have been asked by the contollers if I       have traffic in sight regularly. That is near standard protocol.       Helicopters around Airport are always Dangerous because they hang around       all over at different places on the field but this time the helicopter       was outside the airport flying in normal air space traffic.               I have Watched the video 100 plus times and I can not rule out the       thought that the helicopter pilot intentionally flew into the Jet on       Final.              M Dee       11 hours ago              After watching the replay about 10 times that was my initial thought. The       helicopter made a bee line for the flight that was illuminated brightly.       No response from the helicopter pilot. I suggest What occurred was not an       accidental occurrence.              Darin       12 hours ago              I've flown for a U.S. major since 2000 and have an alternate theory.              I've heard AA5342 was given a runway change to "three-three". I'm going to       guess it was initially RWY 01 the crew had dialed in an approach for. If       that were the case and the helicopter crew had been monitoring       approach/tower and NOT heard the reassignment for whatever reason, the       pilots would not have expected the jet to be on a short final to 33.              I'll go one step further and suggest that if the AA crew had punched in       the RNAV approach to 01 and then been assigned 33 they might not have been       aware of their proximity to the helicopter.              It's just a hunch but I think that changed the runway assignment may have       been a factor.                     --       November 5, 2024 - Congratulations President Donald Trump. We look       forward to America being great again.              The disease known as Kamala Harris has been effectively treated and       eradicated.              We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so that       stupid people won't be offended.              Durham Report: The FBI has an integrity problem. It has none.              Thank you for cleaning up the disaster of the 2008-2017 Obama / Biden       fiasco, President Trump.              Under Barack Obama's leadership, the United States of America became the       The World According To Garp. Obama sold out heterosexuals for Hollywood       queer liberal democrat donors.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
