JB>>number of Dems. Now their worst fears take hold as each day goes by
JB>>and the world doesn't end. Their fear tactics of doom and gloom
JB>>won't come true. The people will see that the fears from the left
JB>>are way over blown. Obama and the left will now start the hand

Turns out pretty much every business publication of any note and
business agencies disagreed with you. That includes the WSJ, the
US Chamber of Congress, and The Economist and Financial Times.

Oh, and none of that had anything to do with taking anyone's
charge card away, that deadline had not even arrived yet, and
now it won't for months. Didn't you know that?

JB>>waiving about what could happen or what will happen in the future.
JB>>All that has happened is that their ability to borrow money has been
JB>>revoked (i.e. we've taken away their credit card). Now they have to
JB>>live within their means. For the hard left, this is the end of the
JB>>world scenario. Maybe they can get Ben to print them up a stack of
JB>>cash and bring it over in trucks :)

Good thing I didn't see this immediately. Gave it time to end.

All that has actually happened is, the Republicans caved. They
saw the end of their world coming, and they got scared. As it
is, many Republicans are hostile to the Tea Party, even more
 than they were before.

Ted Cruz is looking more and more like the looney he is, and
 even Republicans are seeing it.

JB> Well day two has come and pretty much the same as day 1,
JB> except that the Obama administration made some bad
JB> decisions by closing down national parks and some WWII vets
JB> had to take matters into their own hands. It will be

They did not make a decision. That was the way the law is
written. No money, they shut down.

If it was just a decision the feds made, why did NYC, under
their Republican mayor, come up with $15,000/day to reopen The
Statue of Liberty? Why did Arizona come up with $115,000/day to
reopen part of the Grand Canyon? That ain't chump change, so why
would state and city governments, Republican run state and city
government, come up with money like that if it wasn't necessary?

JB> interesting to see how the administration deals with its
JB> decision making around how to live within its financial
JB> means. We'll get a glimpse into whether Obama wants to do
JB> the right thing for the country with regards to spending
JB> priorities or whether he will resort to his typical
JB> political decision making. This is what happens when mommy
JB> and daddy take away Junior's credit card.

There was no decision to make. The law was written that way, no
one can rationally say monuments are crucial functions. And the
law forbids volunteers to run things while the funding is ended.

 Law, Jeff, law.

JB> Patriotism is not who can leak the most Secret documents to
 JB> the NY Times ...

Or the identity of covert operatives to the world.
