Diamond Pet Foods is expanding its recall to now include Diamond Puppy
Formula. This is being done as a precautionary measure, as the product has the
potential to be contaminated with salmonella. No illnesses or sick pets have
been reported.
 
None of the affected bags were shipped to New York State, but if you have this
product please refer to the date codes listed below to ensure your purchase
was not a part of the potentially contaminated lot.

The primary concern with salmonella is that individuals handling dry pet food
can become infected, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands
after having contact with surfaces exposed to this product.  Pets with
Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea,
fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and
abdominal pain.
