|  Ants Flocking To Pads  |

A fellow Sysop and his wife have a female chihuahua, named Amy, who is over 10 years old. The problem lately is that after she relives herself on the wee-wee pads that they have on the floor for her, in no time at all, there are hundreds of ants flocking to the excrement. I had never heard of an instance like that, but I suspect that it could be because the dog might have diabetes or blood sugar issues (I know that diabetes is common in older dogs). I even checked the FAQ for Dogs door on the BBS...but, didn't find anything. The dachshund my late wife and I had when we got married, became diabetic (he was over 10 years old)...then he became resistant to the insulin, and went blind from the glaucoma and cataracts. However, he still had a working nose, and a full set of teeth, as well as an attitude!! (see tagline below |
