I believe it required gzdoom, as it used special engine features that only zdoom/gzdoom support. Thanks Borax Man. gzdoom has been giving me pain to try and get working on my raspberry pi. I was hoping for a different answer just because maybe I would have an easier time to get it to work. At least now I know... if I want to play it I'll have to get gzdoom to work.
