Nope, mt32 when connecting to my system doesn't ask about sound effects.  It
skips right by it.  You're using sbbs and are spoiled.  If syncterm doesn't
have this problem, why would sbbs?  Other systems do with netrunner and to a
lesser extend, mt32.
