   On April 20, 2023, a nearly cloud-free spring day allowed the Moderate
   Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board NASA’s Aqua
   satellite to acquire a gorgeous true-color image of the United Kingdom
   and Ireland.

   The United Kingdom (UK) stretches over both the large island of Great
   Britain and small islands surrounding it (east) and the northernmost
   section of the island of Ireland. Scotland, England, and Wales are
   located on Great Britain with Northern Ireland sitting on the northern
   sixth of the island of Ireland. The southern five-sixths of the island
   of Ireland belong to the country of Ireland. Sediment stains the waters
   of the Irish Sea, which separates the two islands.
