This should still work.  Are you doing this when logged in via a
telnet connection and if so, what are you using to handle the inbound
telnet connections?

I use TIDE here as configured in Ezy and it works fine locally and
remotely.

Also, be sure that you have your export lists set up for each of your
echomail areas.  It has been my experience that if this is not the
case, then mail won't get scanned out to the right uplinks.
