 hurricane Watch NEt & Isaac

This may be especially relevant to some of our sysop and
user hams in region 18 ...

since isaac threatens FLorida today and some nearby islands
the Hurricane watch net is taking measured weather data from stations in the
area, on both 14325 khz and on 40 meters on
7268 khz lower sideband.

If you are not in the affected area, or do not have the
proper privileges to transmit please do not on those
frequencies. Feel free to listen however.

IF ISaac proceeds along the gulf coast to Louisiana and
MIssissippi the ARRL Delta Division Emergency net will be
ready to activate providing 24/7 communications services for government and
private agencies and anyone else within the
affected area. Yours truly is in close communication with
section leadership in the Delta Division, and as net manager will need to get
things cranked up in advance if this
happens.

Anyone with priority traffic during evening hours, if the
emergency net does not stand up can utilize Central Area
Nightwatch, 3807.5 khz as of 0100 uTC.
