14300 KHZ news!
Brief notes on the activity taking place on the most active
emergency frequency in the western hemisphere.
THis weekly news synopsis is posted to net controls on 14300 khz along with
other reports every SUnday morning. IF you spend any time
listening to that frequency you might find some of these items noteworthy.
TO read this weekly journal in its entirety visit
14300.net on the web.
A big tip of the 14300 journal hat to our three newest
additions to the MMSN net controllers roster. THese guys
have been great at picking up more than their share of the
slack these days. Thanks to all three of you for jumping
right in there.
Two of our regulars received mention in the ham radio press
again this week thanks to their efforts during the Haiti
earthquake. THe mention was in Amateur Radio NEwsline
referencing their work with hh2jr. They were of course Fred,
w3zu, and Rick, wa1rkt. Poor RIck gets these mentions, but
it seems the communications press has trouble getting his
call sign correctly. Cq communications screwed it up two or
three places in their issue featuring all the Haiti comms
last spring, and NEwsline screwed it up last week. We know
who they're talking about though. WOuld sure be nice if the
communications press got call signs and other info right
however, as it would sure help with the public education
efforts regarding what we do on 14300 khz.
