Just curious as to whether or not there are any users around here familiar with these projects. The first is for secure data provided in encrypted chunks, served out by machines hosting material that they cannot access the content of. The second is for ad-hoc wireless networking; so long as one of the connected nodes has internet capabilities, the rest are provided with the same. I believe it's dependent on a 801.11g protocol or something like that that is still in development. Regardless, they're very interesting project that I would very much like to find out more about. They'd be extremely useful should the authoritarian 'internet kill switch' be activated, or should an even higher of internet providers have their data subpoenaed, in the interests of keeping access to forbidden content online and keeping people connected to the network, whether or not high bandwidth activities are possible. Yeah, forbidden data has its drawbacks. As on the hidden service network of tor, for every Egyptian fighting for a non oppressive government to find shelter and solace in, you may well have some cheetos-eating kiddie porn provider serving content through such projects as darknet, as well. It is, however, a service that must continue, for there to be truly private communication available for any citizen being crushed under an oppressive regime. -The opinions expressed are not necessarily an advocation of any of the aforementioned ideologies, concepts, or actions.
