As someone else pointed out, compilers catch a lot of their goofs for them. Unless they are a COBOL programmer, most languages don't look much like English. Having worked for years as a programmer (COBOL) in a shop where we had multiple programming languages in use, I am not at all shocked that programmers have such issues when it comes to expressing themselves in writing.
