|  Enthral Code Clean has Started! Release   |
|  28 Mar 14 02:07:40  |
It's been a while since I've posted an update. I've been leaving this echo for all major updates and announcements, as well as any general discussion and questions. Most of the features, testing and general discussion have been taking place on my bbs in the local Enthral message area. Things are pretty stable so I've started cleaning things up a bit and I've been working on putting a tarball together and getting stuff re-imported into a new SVN repository. I have builds going pretty smooth. I stll have to make sure everything is still good accross other platforms and it will give my build scripts a good test to make sure everything is covered. I still have to put together new install scripts though. I'm also plan to seperate the source pull and the data pulls when getting from the repository to keep things a bit cleaner. Once the code pull is all set, I have to setup the data pulls next which will contain all of the BBS INI Files, ANSI Files, Scripts and Folder structure. I will also have seperate pulls for Entelnetd (Enthral's Telnetd), and my own fork of Crashmail. Although, at this time you can use any mail tosser that supports JAM message areas. If your wondering why I'm not using Github, I don't think my code is quite there yet for Github consumption. Its still alpha, and still needs a lot of love but I'm open to anyone who wants to tinker and have fun with it. Plus I have SVN and have been using it quite a while so at sometime in the future when I feel things are more polished I will revisit GitHub :) I've spent about 8 hours tonight cleaning and sorting out the source files for a clean build. I expect the other stuff to take a bit of time to put together along with install info and a list of changes. I also plan to make some binary files for those who aren't up to compiling to check things out. At the moment I have a couple virtual machines setup for linux 32 bit Ubuntu, my current Arch Linux for 64 bit. OSX Lion for 64 bit Mac-Intel. I still need to setup some other vm's for BSD, and check out some old scripts that Netsurge left with me for osx universal binaries that he did for me sometime ago. Some things I'll just play by ear. Since I use a few newer gcc compiler flags and libraries recent distros will most likely be needed in most cases to compile the source. A list of all requirement and dependencies will be provided in the install doc's. Stay tuned more to come soon. |07M|11er|03cy|07ful Fate |08(|15hTc|08)|07 --- Enthral BBS [v.629/Alpha] (Linux x86_64) * Origin: haunting The chapel >>--> htc.zapto.org <--<< (1:154/140) |
