the IntelliJ platform does some pretty fantastic shit like that... I've seen
it done in Java and Python (pyCharm). For python, i use these various
rulesets, which I've seen also in IntelliJ -- variables must be at least 3
characters long, no more than 18, contain only lowercase and underscores,
except for constnats, which are all uppercase, and classes ShouldBeProperCase,
and so on ...
